Drones spotted across Northeast likely coming from 'inside the US,' military expert says
Suspicious drone sightings in states across the Northeast in recent weeks may be coming from inside the United States, according to a military expert. Civilians and lawmakers have reported drone sightings in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, Ohio and other states, with local and federal law enforcement offering little information about the aerial activity, most of which has been spotted at night. Some of the drones are as large as 6 feet in diameter, according to New Jersey state Rep. Dawn Fantasia, who was briefed on the matter last week. "The concern is definitely valid. One thing I do believe, I believe the government knows the source of these drones, and I believe the source of these drones is from inside the U.S., especially the larger drones," Col. William Dunn, president of Strategic Resilience Group, a government consulting group, told Fox News Digital.

Tesla's robotaxi event was long on Musk promises, short on details
For a businessman who perpetually struggles with broken promises, Elon Musk has given himself quite a to-do list at Tesla's long-awaited Hollywood unveiling of its driverless robotaxis. After traversing the fake streets of the Warner Bros movie studio set in a sleek, silver two-door "Cybercab" prototype, Musk promised on Thursday night that the company's popular Model 3 and Model Y vehicles would be able to operate without driver supervision in California and Texas by next year. Musk said the company would start building the fully autonomous Cybercab by 2026 at a price of less than 30,000, and showed off a robovan capable of transporting 20 people around town – which he said would reshape cities by "turning parking lots into parks". Later came the dancing humanoid robots that also mixed drinks at the bar, which Musk said Tesla will also eventually sell for 20,000 to 30,000 each. "I think this will be the biggest product ever, of any kind," he declared.

Deadly explosion in Tel Aviv leaves one dead, more wounded
First responders are on scene in Tel Aviv after a large explosion rocked the city in the middle of the night. The blast happened approximately one block from a U.S. embassy branch office. An explosion that rocked Tel Aviv overnight Thursday has left one person dead and several others wounded. Military officials say they believe the source of the explosion was a deadly drone attack, and Yemen's Houthi rebels have already claimed responsibility for a drone strike in the area near the U.S. embassy, the Associated Press reported. The drone was not intercepted despite it being identified prior to the explosion due to human error.

One Big Topic Didn't Come Up at the Debate. Thank God.
The first 2024 presidential debate unfolded Thursday night between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump and it was, as fellow Slate writer Jill Filipovic put it, the "most painful two hours of television in living memory." If you missed it, good for you. If you did watch it, you'd be forgiven for not remembering the topics that were actually debated vaguely shouted about. In between Biden's excruciatingly painful and "nightmarishly confused" performance and Trump's boorish firehose of lies and falsehoods, the debate also ostensibly featured a wide range of topics like abortion, the economy, climate change, foreign policy in Ukraine and Israel, election integrity, immigration, veterans, race, crime, health care, and even which of the two candidates has a better golf game. However, there was one major issue that the debate failed to broach--despite the fact that it's one of the most (if not the most) consequential developments since the last election cycle: artificial intelligence.

WATCH: Fox News Digital focus group reacts to Biden, Trump sparring on cognitive ability, golf games
A group of voters polled by Fox News Digital in real-time react to former President Trump's defense of his cognitive abilities. Independent and Republican voters in Fox News Digital's focus group appeared to have mixed reactions to President Biden and former President Trump's sparring over their respective cognitive abilities and golf handicaps, while Democrats generally disapproved. During the CNN Presidential Debate on Thursday night, CNN moderator Dana Bash presented the ages Biden and Trump would be at the end of a potential second four-year term. Biden would be 86, while Trump would be 82. Former President Trump, left, and President Biden squared off in their high-stakes 2024 election debate on Thursday, and the contrast between the pair could not have been starker, a body language expert tells Fox News.

News Analysis: Labor unions win big in California Legislature as hot labor summer drags into fall
By the time California state senators took up a bill Thursday night to grant unemployment benefits to striking workers, labor unions had already scored several monumental wins in the state Legislature. They landed a major deal to raise fast food wages to $20 an hour. They convinced lawmakers to pass a bill requiring driverless trucks to have a human safety driver. They persuaded the Democratic-led Legislature to send Gov. Gavin Newsom a bill giving all workers in California a minimum of five paid sick days -- up from the current requirement of three. So when the time came to vote on allowing striking workers to receive unemployment benefits, an exasperated Republican state senator rose to make the case that businesses wouldn't be able to stay afloat if their employees could get paid while on the picket line.

Tesla will build a vehicle dedicated for use as a robotaxi, and it will start making three new vehicles next year, CEO Elon Musk told fans at a party celebrating the opening of a Texas factory. He also said Tesla will start building the Cybertruck pickup at its new factory near Austin, Texas, next year. After that, it will start building a new Roadster and an electric semi, he said. He made his remarks Thursday night at the "Cyber Rodeo at Giga Texas," an invitation-only party for thousands of guests at Tesla's new billion-dollar-plus factory.

A multifaceted focus on games at The Game Awards this Thursday
The Game Awards used to be considered the video game industry's Oscars. Now, the event, in its fifth year and set to be streamed live around the globe Thursday night, is becoming more like the Emmys. That's because games are changing, says the show's creator and executive producer, Geoff Keighley. Just as the Emmys awards seasons of TV shows, "we almost have seasons of games now. With'Fortnite,' even though it came out last year, it's still nominated this year because they keep updating it," Keighley said.
